Torn

On a chain so thin, you can quickly break.

You hang in reminder, you are so cold.

You are a symbol of what I could take,

Although you are not new, you are not old.

You had slipped through my hand and hit the floor,

I had never felt so hurt and broken.

All my thoughts fled at the slam of the door.

You could not take the words that were spoken

You are priceless; I feel you hit my chest,

So simple and silver, for that is you.

You remind me to always do my best,

but there is more than that to what you do.

Although you are simple and you are worn,

I can never part or else I’d be torn.
